BODY is an ongoing cycle on the weaknesses of feminine body as well as its beauty.
With the use of the sparsest means – that is the pitch blackness and a short light line – I try to portray the people I meet and tell their stories in a comprehensive way. Paradoxically, my PORTRAITS deprive models of their faces and divide their bodies into fractions emerging from darkness. The facial expression is irrelevant as the body does not remain silent in the scant light and my lens. It tells a story. Sometimes it is a story about satisfaction, other times about fear of fading away, about motherhood or longing for it, about pain as well as the joy of life and eroticism.
The BODY cycle is also an expression of my personal obsession that compels me to hold the fleeting moments from the lives of my models who are always a living subject for me, and never a passive object of my work.
